2024 Winter Dance Concert (The Gathering)

Casting

 

The following is the casting for the 2024 Winter Dance Performance. Thanks to all who attended. There are many complicated factors that go into casting any given show. If you were not cast in this production, please don’t let it discourage you from auditioning in the future. We present a show each semester so please come back and audition in late January for our Spring Fear No Art production. I also encourage everyone interested in dancing, to sign up for a dance class. 

 

Please read carefully:

 

1)        Rehearsals begin the week of Sept 9^th

2)        I still have a few small solo parts to cast and will be following up with cast members based on availability and time.

3)        If you want to earn college credit for participating in the show, please let me know.

4)        Review the cast list for your name. [Note days, times and rooms.] Some rooms are still being determined and I will follow up with rooms updates later.

5)        Email me at valpert@clcillinois.edu no later than Thursday, September 5^th confirming or rejecting your participation in each dance that you are cast in.

a)         Please do not say “I am confirming all.” Be specific, like  I am confirming Tues with Valerie at 11:30-1 pm and Sat with Ivan from 11:20-12:30. 

b)        Please let me know how you want your name to appear in the Playbill. [Also, let me know if you have preferred pronouns.]

c)        I will be adding your email to a group contact list to follow up with information, so please use an email that you check often. 

6)        If I do not receive an email by the deadline, I will assume that you have dropped out of the show, but I always prefer a courtesy communication email.

WOW! What an amazing Audition/Submission turnout. The following is the casting for the 2024 Fear No Art Festival. Thanks to all who attended. There are many factors that go into casting. If you were not cast in this production, it was most likely due to scheduling conflicts. Please come back in August for our Winter Danceproduction. 

 

Please read carefully and respond appropriately.

 

I have already emailed everybody who attended the audition to inform them whether they were cast in the show. If you were cast in the show, you were asked to confirm your participation by Friday, Feb 3. 

 

If you did not receive an email from me, then email me immediately at valpert@clcillinois.edu to find out if you have been cast in the show. If I don’t hear back from individuals in a timely manner, then I have no choice but to replace their role.

TECHNICAL/SHOW INFORMATION

 

Must be available for all technical rehearsal and performance dates below:

 

·      Sat, April 13: Lighting Rehearsal run all day. (Exact time for each group to be determined later)

·      April 15 – 18th^th Technical rehearsal. Run Show all week at 7:30 pm.

·      April 19 @ Performance at 7:30 pm 

·      April 20 @ Performance at 2pm & 7:30 pm: (Friday call time at 6pm & Saturday @ 12:00 pm and 6 pm)

PERFORMANCE DATES:

 

Friday, April 19 at 7:30 pm.

Saturday, April 20 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.

 

A festival like no other, the annual Fear No Art festival is a lively celebration featuring a variety of emerging choreographers, dancers, musicians, singers, actors, photographers, artists, graphic designers, and poets. This festival plays a vital role in supporting the artistic development and work of both our college students and our community artists at large. 

 

Artists of all disciplines! If you are interested in sharing your work in this exciting festival and meeting other creative people, please join us:

2024 FEAR NO ART AUDITIONS/SUBMISSIONS

 

Date: Thursday, January 25, 2024

Place: P103 (Experimental Theatre) James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts.

Time:

·       5:30-6 p.m. for Visual Artists (Bring sample of the work: painting, pencil, animation, etc. You do not have to have the exact work(s) at submission date.) 

·       6-7 p.m. for Musicians/Poets/Actors/Other Artists (Prepare to sing, play, spoken word or bring recording. Piano is available.)

·       7 p.m. for Dancers (Come dressed and ready to dance. No prepared dance necessary).

 

Note: Dance Rehearsals have a minimum commitment of 2 hours a week for one piece.  Rehearsal days and times vary and depend on choreographers and dancer availability. All other artists work independently.

 

So come join the fun, meet new people, and share your art!
