2026 Winter Dance Concert
Casting
The following is the casting for the 2026 Winter Dance Performance. Thanks to all who attended. There are many complicated factors that go into casting any given show. If you were not cast in this production, please don’t let it discourage you from auditioning in the future. We present a show each semester so please come back and audition in late January for our Spring Fear No Art production (which will include lots of hip hop).
Please read carefully:
1) Rehearsals begin on various dates. So, be sure you read the dates at the bottom of this list carefully before confirming your participation.
2) Absence Policy:
a) Due to our short rehearsal timeframe (10 weeks), unexcused absences from rehearsals will result in removal from that dance work. More than 1 excused absence will also put you at risk for minimizing your role or removal altogether depending on impact to the group. Please consider this carefully before committing.
3) If you want to earn college credit [Elective Transfer] for participating in the show, please indicate that when you confirm your participation.
4) Review the cast list for your name. [Note days, times and rooms.] Note: Rehearsals will either be in P106 or P103.
5) Email me at valpert@clcillinois.edu immediately but no later than Saturday, September 5 confirming or rejecting your participation in each dance that you are cast. In Subject Line, please put [Your last name 26 Winter Dance Response]
a) Please do not say “I am confirming all.” Be specific, such as “I am confirming Tues with Valerie at 6:30-8:30 pm and Mondays with Terry from 11:30-1:30, etc.”
b) Please let us know how you want your name to appear in the Playbill. [Also, let us know if you have preferred pronouns.]
c) I will be adding your email to a group contact list to follow up with information, so please use an email that you check often.
6) No worries, if you have changed your mind about participating in the show or any specific dance. However, we would appreciate it if you informed us now.
7) If I do not receive an email by the deadline, I will assume that you have dropped out of the show, but I always prefer a courtesy communication email.
